Jalandhar: Leaders across political divides attend the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra

To celebrate Ram Navami, a shobha yatra was held in the city today. Prominent political figures from all parties participated in the yatra, which was organized by the Shri Devi Talab Mandir Prabandhak Committee. These leaders included Harpal Kaur, the mother of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Education Minister Harjot Bains, Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh, BJP leaders Manoranjan Kalia and Sheetal Angural, as well as candidates running in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Charanjit Singh Channi of the Congress, Pawan Tinu of AAP, and Sushil Rinku of the BJP.

Along with applauding the committee’s efforts, political leaders wished the people a happy Ram Navami and urged them to follow Lord Rama’s teachings to avoid social ills and foster harmony and peace in society.

Beginning at Devi Talab Mandir, the yatra traveled through many locations, including a chowk, before ending back at the Mandir. The main attractions of the yatra were exquisite palanquins and thoughtfully crafted artifacts that told tales of the lives of Hanuman, Sita, and Ram. A variety of “jathas” performed hymns.

Shopkeepers from all faiths organized langar stands, cleaned and embellished the roads in front of their establishments, and participated in the Shobha Yatra.

Additionally, the district administration established the necessary plans for parking, security, and other amenities, as well as for diverting traffic.
