Meet the 7-year-old Indian prodigy who entered IIT to become the “youngest surgeon in the world.”

He could read and write by the time he was two years old. He had stunned everyone by reading English classics by the time he was five years old by the time he was seven. When most 7-year-olds find it difficult to grasp fundamental science and arithmetic, he was creating exceptions.

Akrit Pran Jaswal of Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh, attracted national notice for performing surgery on the hands of an 8-year-old burn patient. At the age of twelve, the miracle child grabbed headlines once again when he was recognized as the “youngest university student” in the nation. When Akrit Jaswal made an appearance on the well-known talk show hosted by the legendary Oprah Winfrey, he gained international recognition. At the age of 13, Jaswal had one of the highest IQs (146) in his age group.

Since his early years, Akrit is said to have worked at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, where he focused on the hunt for cancer. Akrit, a medical prodigy who enrolled at IIT Kanpur to study bioengineering, received encouragement and direction from the Chairman of Secondary Education in Dharamshala. Akrit started studying science at Chandigarh University when he was twelve years old, and he was pursuing a master’s degree in chemistry when he was seventeen.
