Meet the lady, DU alumna, whose AIR was so good she cleared the UPSC test without any coaching

To fulfill their aim of clearing the UPSC, many aspirants face one of India’s most challenging examinations. A tiny percentage of these UPSC students go on to become IAS, IPS, and IFS after completing the three-part test. If these talented pupils pass this test, they will get a reward for their diligence. Among these names is Gandharva Rathore. She is an IAS officer from the 2016 batch, and her success story can serve as a powerful motivational tool for candidates preparing for the 2023 UPSC Mains.

Gandharva Rathore went to school in her native Jaipur, Rajasthan, where she was born. 2013 saw her graduate from Shri Ram College for Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. She then finished her post-graduation program in 2015.

She then began to take the UPSC Civil Services Examination seriously. On her second attempt, she passed the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2016. Without using a teacher, she received a score of 93rd on this exam.

Gandharva received a 2–3 on her first preliminary test, but she was unable to pass it. Armed with these newfound insights, Gandharva then met with a number of acquaintances, other contenders, and accomplished prospects to decide what to study and how much time to devote to each.

On the other hand, Gandharva Rathore is one of such administrative officials who finished their education without guidance. She initially went to every bookshop and coaching facility in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, even though she chose not to enroll in tutoring.

She discovered the pertinent notes for each subject there. After that, thoroughly go over each subject’s curriculum and study guide. Gandharva also got assistance from her peers who had gone to different coaching centers before.

Gandharva said that she used to spend half her time on the additional subject and eighty percent of her time preparing for the Mains. According to her, one subject that is necessary to pass the civil service test is the optional one. The Mains and Optional prep was finished by Gandharva herself before moving on to the preliminary test.
