Shaurya Arora of Jhajjar scores 14th in the Civil Services test

Following today’s publication of the Union Public Service (UPSC) test results, several young boys and girls from different districts in Haryana have brought pride to the state. Jhajjar has produced two high UPSC scorers. Shaurya Arora (24), an IIT Mumbai B. Tech graduate who scored 14th on his second try, is one of the top rankers. Kharhar village inhabitant Shivansh Rathi scored 63rd in the UPSC examinations.

“Even though I have a professional degree from a prestigious institute, I prepared for the UPSC exam because I have been passionate about the civil services exam since I was a child,” says Arora, a resident of Sector 6 in Bahadurgarh.

“I worked very hard to fulfill my childhood aspiration of becoming an IAS. I put about ten hours a day making the arrangements,” Shivansh explains. His father, Ravinder Rathi, is a businessman, while his mother, Dr. Sudesh, teaches at Government Women College.

Bhawesh’s secret to success

Hisar: Bhawesh Khyalia, a resident of Police Lines Area (PLA) sector, has achieved 46th position, demonstrating how self-study may lead to success. In 2020, Bhawesh received his degree from Hyderabad’s Tata Institute of Social Studies (TISS). In the HCS test, he placed 12th, and on his first try in the UPSC, he placed 280.

In OBC, Basant came in second.

Yamunanagar: Mehar Majra village’s Basant Singh secured the 47th position, which is the second position in the OBC category. At IIT Delhi, Basant completed his M. Tech in information technology and his B. Tech in electrical engineering. Vaishali Singh, his sister, works for the Haryana government as an excise and tax officer.

22-year-old high achiever

Faridabad: At the age of 22, Shristi Mishra is perhaps among the youngest applicants to have been accepted into the UPSC, having achieved the 95th position. After spending eight to ten hours a day studying, the daughter of Adarsh Kumar Mishra, the Under Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, succeeded. It was her second go at it. Shristi, the eldest of the three siblings, graduated in 2022 from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi.

Jaswant also passed the HPSC.

Panipat: On his fourth try, Jaswant Malik from the district’s Seenk hamlet placed 115th. He is now receiving training in Gurugram after placing second in the Haryana Public Service Examination in 2023. After completing his education at DPS, Delhi, he graduated with honors in mathematics from Kirorimal College. The Tata Institute of Social Science in Hyderabad is where he completed his master’s degree.

Suman’s second effort

Gurugram: Suman Yadav, who lives in the hamlet of Sarai Alawardi, has achieved the 170th rank. She studied for the UPSC test for the previous three years and passed it on her second try. She earned a B.Sc. from Delhi University after finishing her formal schooling, and she subsequently began studying for the UPSC test. In the UPSC test, the daughters of two Gurugram police officers have also succeeded. In the UPSC test, Prakhya, the daughter of sub inspector Rambir, achieved the 584th rank, while Diya, the daughter of inspector Balraj Yadav, SHO of the DLF phase 3 police station, won the 665th position.

Two females from Sirsa shine.

Sirsa: Komal Garg and Manu Bhobriya, two females from Sirsa, made their families proud when they cleared the UPSC test. After clearing it on her third try, Komal from Agarsain Colony placed 221st. Manu Bhobriya, a resident of Chhatrian village, scored 434th on her first try in the test. Her uncle works in the CID Department, while her father is a member of the Chandigarh Police. Manu is now working on her MD while studying her MBBS.

Girisha wants to help people.

Karnal: In her sixth and last try, Sector-8 inhabitant Girisha Chaudhary placed 263rd. Girisha graduated in 2017 with a degree in computer science from JayPee University in Solan. She advises, “Youth must remember that life goes beyond any exam and never give up.” -TNS

Pragati, an Ambala-based OSD

Rohtak: With a 355th rank, Dr. Pragati Verma, MBBS, MD, has brought honors to Haryana and Rohtak. She is from Meham and placed second in the previous year’s HCS examinations. Pragati is now employed with Commissioner Ambala Division as OSD. Her mother works for the Health Department, while her father teaches elementary school. She has a 3-year-old kid and is wed to Kurukshetra-born Dr. Atul Verma. She is RC Verma’s (retired IAS official) daughter-in-law. Pragati has achieved her second straight perfect score in the UPSC examinations. She was chosen for the allied services last year, but she declined to enlist since she intended to become an IAS officer.

Vibhanshu’s fifth effort

Faridabad: “Resilience, patience, and continuous hard work” may have been the key to 27-year-old Vibhanshu Kumar’s achievement in making it to the UPSC after five tries. In the final results that were released today, he came in at position 772. Currently residing in Puri Pranayam, a residential community located in Sector-89 here, Vibhanshu began pursuing his goal in 2017 after his graduation from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.

“Although I am content, I am not entirely fulfilled,” declares Vibhanshu, who is preparing for his last effort of the year. “Next time, I promise to make it to the appropriate IAS cadre,” he continues.
