Son of a farmer in a secluded Maharashtra hamlet excels in JEE Mains

Nilkrishna Gajare, a farmer’s kid from Maharashtra’s Washim district, has been working very hard for the last two years to achieve All India Rank 1 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains.

Originating from the isolated town of Belkhed in Washim, Nilkrishna adhered to a strict regimen, spending almost ten hours a day preparing for the examinations.

On Thursday, the National Testing Agency released the results of the JEE Mains exam.

Nirmal Gajare, the father of Nilkrishna, told PTI over the phone that he was speechless with joy at his son’s achievement.

According to him, Nilkrishna resided with his aunt while completing his elementary education at Rajeshwar Convent in Akola and J C High School in Karanja Lad.

“Nilkrishna has always excelled academically and athletically. He took part in archery competitions at the district and national levels, according to Gajare.

At Shegaon’s Shree Dnyaneshwar Maskuji Burungale Science and Arts College, the 19-year-old is continuing his education.

According to Gajare, Nilkrishna gets up around four in the morning, studies for two hours, does “pranayam” (breathing exercises), begins studying again at eight thirty, and goes to bed at ten thirty.

“I motivated him and wanted the best for him in life and in his education. Gajare, ecstatic about his son’s accomplishment, added, “I want him to achieve things I never could.”

According to him, Nilkrishna wants to attend IIT Bombay and pursue a career in science.

Nilkrishna has overcome one obstacle to realize his objective and is now getting ready for JEE-Advanced, which is taking place next month.
