3,200 kg of ruined lahan and 23 liters of illegal alcohol were found

Yesterday, civil and police authorities worked together to conduct a large-scale operation to search for illegal booze throughout the city and the Mand districts. At Kishansingh Wala, they confiscated 23 liters of illegal whiskey and immediately burned 3,200 kg of lahan.

Amit Kumar Panchal, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, said that personnel from the administration, police, and excise agencies were closely monitoring the sale of illegal alcohol. In addition, two plastic drums, one iron drum, and seven tarpaulins were taken by the crews. Additionally, a complaint has been filed at the police station in Fattu Dhinga.

He threatened to take tough measures against individuals who engaged in this behavior. Teams are conducting inspections at all authorized liquor stores, excise license holders such as hard bars, and L-17 license holders in anticipation of the Lok Sabha election. The Mand regions of Sultanpur Lodhi were the scene of recurrent searches aimed at seizing illegal booze of any form.

He said that as of now, the excise, police, and local government departments have worked together to capture and burn 15,705 liters of illegal liquor, or lahan. The DC said that excise inspectors in each of the four subdivisions investigated paint stores, furniture stores, and L-17 license holders.

In addition to flag marches, the district election officer said that over the previous several days, mobile and stationary nakas have been conducted around the district to monitor any suspicious activity. He said that enforcement actions will be stepped up much further in accordance with the Election Commission’s rules.

SDMs carried out unexpected inspections in their corresponding regions concurrently. Importantly, the Deputy Commissioner convened a review meeting with police, excise, and sub-divisional magistrates. He emphasized that no one should transport alcohol in their respective zones without permission.
