Rahul Gandhi lacks the courage to run from Amethi: Singh Rajnath

Leading BJP politician Rajnath Singh ridiculed Congressman Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, claiming that the Congressman lacks the courage to run again from the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency after losing it in 2019.

According to Singh, Gandhi moved from Uttar Pradesh to Kerala after his loss.

In an attempt to rally support for BJP candidate Anil K Antony, he said, “However, I have heard that the people of Wayanad have decided not to make him their MP,” at an election rally in the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha seat.

Even if the nation was launching a number of space programs and initiatives, Singh said, “the launching of Congress young leader has not happened for the last 20 years”.

A jab at the Wayanad Congress MP, he said, “The Congress party’s ‘Rahulyaan’ has neither been launched nor has it landed anywhere.”

A K Antony is a Congress veteran who Singh, in his address, described as a disciplined and principled someone whose honesty and integrity cannot be questioned.

He said that after reading Antony’s assertion that Anil Antony ought to lose the Lok Sabha election, he was taken aback.

“I am aware of A K Antony’s moral character and I can relate to his compulsions. He finds it difficult to back Anil Antony. But I want to let him know that Anil is his son. Even if you (A K Antony) may not support him politically or vote for him (Anil), as his father, I would want to ask that your blessings be upon him “said Singh.

Kerala’s Lok Sabha elections are scheduled on April 26; the results will be announced on June 4.
