4121 metric tonnes of seeds will be delivered in Himachal Pradesh during the Kharif season of 2023

For the Kharif season of 2023, 4121 metric tonnes of food crop seeds, 30 metric tonnes of insecticides, and 10607 metric tonnes of chemical fertilisers have already been made available under the dependent crop plan being implemented in Himachal Pradesh.

This information was provided by the Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Secretary, Rakesh Kanwar, who co-chaired a meeting to review the preparation for the monsoon, sowing of Kharif crops, and implementation of various center-sponsored agricultural programmes with Joint Secretary (CR & CEO), Ritesh Chauhan.

Through Krishi Vigyan Kendra and agricultural extension agents in the state, he said, climate resilient agriculture and millet production are being encouraged.

All pertinent scheme nodal officials of the state participated in a thorough evaluation of center-sponsored schemes and center-sector schemes throughout the conference.

For the benefit of the greatest number of farmers, Ritesh Chauhan emphasised the need of effective advertising for center-sponsored programmes, particularly the crop insurance policy.

According to the plan, a panchayat-level automated weather station would be installed throughout the state, he added.

Additionally, he promised that funding will be released quickly for the years 2023–2024 under different sub-schemes of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and Krishi Unnati Yojana so that farmers would get benefits as soon as possible.

Rajesh Kaushik, Director of Agriculture, gave a thorough presentation outlining the steps done to prepare for the monsoon and conduct different programmes.
