A cloudburst in Himachal killed seven family members

Seven family members were killed in a cloudburst in Jadon village in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan districts, according to police reports released on Monday.

Six individuals were rescued during the Sunday night cloudburst, which also swept away two homes.

According to Superintendent of Police for Solan Gaurav Singh, the deceased were named as Harnam (38), Kamal Kishore (35), Hemlata (34), Rahul (14), Neha (12), Golu (8), and Raksha (12).

Several persons are reportedly trapped in a landslide at the Shiv temple in the Summer Hill neighborhood of Shimla city in a separate rain-related disaster. Rescue efforts are in progress.

All public schools and institutions in the state have been instructed to close on Monday due to the severe rainfall.
