A Delhi man was fatally stabbed for more than Rs 3,000
According to police, a 21-year-old male was fatally stabbed on Wednesday in the Tigri neighborhood of south Delhi for an alleged sum of Rs 3,000.
On social media, a clip claiming to show Yusuf Ali being stabbed has gone viral.
A PCR call describing the stabbing was made in the morning to the Tigri police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary said that Yusuf Ali, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was transported to Batra Hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead.
Yusuf’s father Sahid Ali said in his statement that his son had received a financial threat from a man named Shahrukh around three or four days before.
The senior officer said that Sahid claimed Yusuf had borrowed 3,000 rupees from Shahrukh, who was requesting payment from the victim.
Following the event, a video started to go viral on social media, but PTI was unable to verify its reality.
The guy is seen being stabbed repeatedly outside a store in the longer-than-two-minute footage, which was shot from across the street. The footage also shows individuals passing by, but none of them stop to help the victim.
Even though he was bleeding, the victim attempted to fight back but the assailant just continued stabbing him. Later in the footage, the guy is seen laying on the ground with blood all around him. A few guys then rushed to defend the victim while assaulting the accuser.
Shahrukh, a resident of Sangam Vihar’s K2 Block, was detained and sent to a hospital for treatment.
