A father-daughter pair is detained for selling drugs

In keeping with its campaign against drug dealers, Samba police apprehended two drug dealers within the jurisdiction of the Vijaypur police station, seizing 5.20 kilos of heroin and Rs 1,77,260 in cash.

While on patrol in the Rakh Barotain region, a police team from Vijaypur led by the SHO discovered two people, including a lady, under dubious circumstances. Both attempted to flee the scene upon seeing the police party, but police reacted quickly and arrested them, an official said.

Approximately 5.20 grams of heroin and money totaling Rs 1,77,260 were found in their hands during the screening process. The two also had three cell phones found on them.

The apprehended drug dealers admitted to being a father-and-daughter team who were active in the local drug trade after being extensively questioned. They have been identified as Rakh Barotain by Samba locals Roshan Din and Payaro Bibi.

According to the official, an inquiry has begun into a complaint filed at the Vijaypur police station under Sections 8, 21, 22, 27-A, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
