A group of lawyers wants a separate capital and high court for Haryana

An organization called Haryana Banao Abhiyaan, which is made up of retired government employees and attorneys, called a news conference and asked for the state to have its own capital.

Though it has been 57 years since Haryana and Punjab broke away, the area still lacks the status of a completely independent state since it lacks a distinct capital and a separate High Court, according to Randhir Singh Badhran, the former president of the Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh Bar Council.

The capital of Punjab, Chandigarh, became the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana when it was designated as a Union Territory.

According to Badhran, more societal segments will be introduced to draw attention to the significant problems facing Haryana. He said that Haryana will not give up its claim to Chandigarh, despite their demands for a separate capital and high court.

Attending the news conference were Justice Nawab Singh (retd), former Haryana Chief Secretary SC Choudhary, and former OSD of the Chief Minister MS Chopra.
