AAG Ponnavolu denounces Sharmila’s comments in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Assistant Accountant General Ponnavolu Sudhakara Reddy denounced APCC President Sharmila’s comments, claiming that she has been leveling false accusations against him in relation to CBI proceedings brought against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the previous chief minister.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Ponnavolu said that Sankara Rao, a Congress MLA at the time, requested that YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name be included in the FIR.

He said that Sankara Rao made accusations against YSR in a letter to the High Court. Leader of the TDP, Yerrannaidu intervened in the case as well. He indicated that on August 17, 2011, YSR and YS Jagan’s names were added to the FIR.

The leaders of Congress had forced fabricated charges on YSR, according to the AAG. In December 2011, he had launched a complaint against the Congress leaders, strongly objecting to the charges being foisted on YSR. Prior to bringing accusations against him, Sharmila had to research the actual facts (Ponnavolu). He objected against the CBI and Congress party pressuring YSR with cases, claiming that they had done so. He said that Sharmila has been playing by Chandrababu Naidu’s script and inserting Ponnvolu into the dispute in order to gain political points.
