AAP and former Congress MLAs join the BJP

Leaders of the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.

The newcomers were cordially welcomed by Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, and the party’s South Delhi Lok Sabha candidate, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.

The BJP was accompanied by former AAP MLA Narayan Datt Sharma, former councillor Ramesh Ambawat, former Congress MLA Balram Tanwar, and Chairman of the Delhi Government’s OBC Commission Jagdish Yadav.

Anurag Thakur said, “Responsibilities are assigned on the basis of merit, not on caste or religion,” in reference to the BJP’s dedication to meritocracy. He emphasized the need of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in protecting those who are persecuted because of their religious beliefs, saying that the legislation preserves India’s inclusive and compassionate culture.

Virendra Sachdeva echoed Thakur’s words by expressing confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s abilities. “The people of Delhi have chosen to give the BJP control over all seven Lok Sabha seats,” Sachdeva said.

“Leaders of AAP are involved in corruption, and that is why AAP workers are getting disillusioned with them and joining the BJP, influenced by the policies of the Modi government,” said Ramvir Singh Bidhuri during the event.
