AAP claims MLA Amanatullah Khan was detained by the ED in a matter related to the Waqf Board

The AAP has said that Amanatullah Khan, the party’s MLA, has been placed under arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. Khan’s imprisonment is said to be connected to anomalies in the Delhi Waqf Board.

Right now, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi Minister Atishi are visiting the Okhla MLA’s house. The party’s Delhi chapter has said on social media that Mr. Khan’s suspected detention is just another development in the “BJP’s failed attempts to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party.”

It is said that Khan violated government regulations and conventions by unlawfully recruiting thirty-two individuals while serving as the head of the Delhi Waqf Board.

Khan’s premises had been searched by the ED previously.

In March, Khan was granted anticipatory bail by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in connection with a case brought by the Enforcement Directorate about purported irregularities in the recruitment of the Delhi Waqf Board.
