Abohar: an e-rickshaw carrying schoolchildren overturns, injuring seven

Seven people were hurt when an e-rickshaw carrying pupils to a private school capsized today. School administrators and the children’s relatives were at the scene as soon as word of the tragedy spread, and they sent the wounded kids to the Civil Hospital.

Lakhwinder Singh, an e-rickshaw driver from Panjpeer Colony, was reportedly transporting about twelve pupils to school. When he got to Sito Road, the e-rickshaw’s axle suddenly snapped, causing the car to topple over and injuring seven of the kids as they tumbled into the road.

The children’s relatives said that while the e-rickshaws were only authorized to carry six people, some drivers had added extra seats to fit more kids.
