Abohar: Outraged by disregard, locals want to abstain from the LS election

People who had been neglected in development had begun to voice their complaints, even if political activities for the June 1 Lok Sabha election were boring since only the AAP had chosen to nominate Muktsar MLA Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, a relatively unknown politician for the Abohar district.

Residents of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, often referred to as Jammu Basti and a part of the Abha Nagari, protested over the lack of development in their region on Sunday by hanging signs calling for a boycott of the politicians. They forewarned in a meeting that no politician, regardless of party, should visit the ward in order to solicit votes, and that the concerned politician would bear responsibility should an unpleasant scenario arise in the community.

The people living there say that since their street was built in 2003, four administrations have come and gone, but no party’s representatives have maintained it. They regretted not revealing their faces after the votes despite having all made false promises throughout the election.

They said that although all of the city’s roadways were rebuilt or built from scratch as part of the Amrit Yojana, there was extreme prejudice in this neighborhood and not a single brick was put in this particular street. As a result, the roadway has totally fallen into disrepair, which causes trouble for people throughout the wet season.
