Maliwal said during a news briefing in New Delhi that throughout the time period, 92,004 “unique cases” including domestic abuse, disputes with neighbors, rape and sexual assault, POCSO, abduction, and cyber crimes were reported via the hotline.

“We have released the annual data of DCW’s women helpline 181, ” Swati Maliwal said to the media. The DCW 181 hotline got more than 40 lakh calls in the previous seven years, according to the statistics. We got 6,30,000 calls only last year.

A group of local volunteers, according to Maliwal, assist the hotline.

The DCW runs the 24-hour, toll-free 181 hotline for women in need. The callers get advice, and if required, the complaint is sent to the appropriate authorities, such as the Delhi police, hospitals, or homeless shelters, for resolution.

According to reports, the ladies are often greeted by a group of counseling professionals who support them in their anguish.
