Adjunct lineman suspended for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000

An assistant lineman (ALM) employed by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in the Badrola subdivision was detained today by a team from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a 5,000-dollar bribe from a local.

An ACB spokeswoman said that a team successfully apprehended the culprit, known as Rakesh Tewatia, who had accepted a bribe in exchange for services pertaining to lowering the punishment in connection with a power theft case. He continued by saying that the ACB had been notified by the complainant, and that they had set up a trap and detained the suspect on Friday when he was taking the bribe here.

Based on the data acquired, the ACB spokeswoman said that a comprehensive investigation was being conducted into the situation. There were witnesses present during the whole process, which was conducted in full openness. He said that the suspect has been taken into custody and that a complaint has been filed at the local ACB police station.
