After two medical students test positive for cholera, the Karnataka Health Department is on high alert

Following the confirmation of two Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) students’ positive cholera test results on Sunday, the Karnataka Health Department has issued a notice.

According to authorities, these two were among the 47 kids who were admitted to the hospital with complaints of dehydration and loose feces.

Officials have been instructed by the government to take all required safety measures to prevent the infection from spreading to additional people.

After it was closed, the BMCRI hostel kitchen was disinfected. Water and food were being provided by the kitchen of Victoria Hospital. According to officials, pest control measures are also being implemented.

Six confirmed cholera cases have been recorded in the state so far this year, five of which were reported in March, according to a report released by the Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department on Friday.
