According to police reports, a lawyer was shot and killed by bike-borne attackers in front of the JN Medical College close to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus.

Lawyers protested by blocking a road shortly after the murder, calling for prompt police intervention in the case and payment of damages to the victim’s family.

SSP Kalanidhi Naithani of Aligarh also examined the murder scene.

“We talked with the victim’s brother, who revealed that the latter was also involved in the real estate industry. Police have opened an inquiry and filed a FIR, the official said.

Police sources claim that when Mugis was fired at and escaped from the criminals, they were on their way to court.
