An UP NEET candidate passes away at a Kota hospital

Two days after being transported to the city’s MBS Hospital due to high blood pressure and sugar levels, a young man from Uttar Pradesh who was preparing for medical entrance exams here in Kota passed away under treatment, authorities said on Sunday.

Shivam Raghav (age 21) is a NEET candidate from the Aligarh region of Uttar Pradesh. He has spent the previous three years studying in Kota for the entrance exam and is residing in a dormitory room at Landmark City, which is under the Kunhari police station.

The kid was sent to MBS Hospital on Friday as his health worsened, according to Sub Inspector Rajaram of Kunhari police station. The boy had high blood pressure and sugar levels for the previous six months.

He stated that Raghav’s health worsened while he was still in the hospital, forcing an ICU transfer, where he passed away early on Sunday morning.

After the post-mortem, the police gave his family members, who had traveled to Kota after his hospitalization, the corpse.

Under section 174 of the Cr.P.C., police filed a case for inquiry.

Raghav’s family claims that while he passed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) the previous year, he was not accepted into a government medical institution.

In Kota, this is the second such student fatality in the last four days.

Parneet Raj Roy, 18, a native of Jamshedpur and a 12th-grade student, passed away in MBS Hospital earlier on Thursday after his condition worsened in his PG room.

When his father Rajiv Ranjan Roy arrived in Kota to collect the corpse after the post-mortem, he insisted on an unbiased investigation to determine the precise cause of his son’s death.
