Anurag Thakur is against “misleading” people about CAA

“The Citizenship Amendment Act, which the BJP promised to pass, has been implemented. Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said today in Nadaun, close to here, “The law gives citizenship to people who have faced torture in other countries and does not snatch citizenship of anybody.”

Speaking to reporters outside of a reception hosted for him by BJP members, Anurag said that Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi, and Arvind Kejriwal—as well as other opposition party leaders—should quit deceiving the public about the CAA. He went on to say that such an Act would not have been necessary if the neighboring nations had respected and given equal rights to members of minority cultures.

He said that while the nation was split along religious lines, certain nations, like Pakistan, disregarded the terms of the Partition agreement. He continued by saying that the BJP has kept its word to the people of the nation by building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, passing legislation outlawing “triple talaq,” and now putting the CAA into effect.

Anurag exhorted BJP officials and members to begin operating at the booth level and educating people about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare and development initiatives. Under the prime minister’s leadership, he claimed, the nation’s economy has become the fastest-growing among emerging countries worldwide.

He said that the Prime Minister’s vision had produced the nation’s overall progress. In order to secure the Prime Minister’s “hat-trick” and victory on more than 400 seats, he said, party employees needed to go to work.

Anurag said that the BJP’s goal of winning more than 400 seats could only be accomplished with the involvement of grassroots laborers. He expressed gratitude to BJP national president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their faith in him.

Anurag was earlier greeted by former MLAs Vijay Agnihotri and Kamlesh Kumari, vice president Abhayveer Singh Lovely, district BJP president Deshraj Sharma, Usha Thakur, BJP general secretary Rajesh Thakur, media in-charge Vikas Sharma, and Usha Birla.
