AP: In response to criticism of CM Jagan’s election campaign, the BJP says nothing

While TDP and Jana Sena Party leaders have been vocal about their outrage at the assault on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the BJP, their electoral partner, has refrained from participating in the political mudslinging.

BJP State President D Purandeswari has called for a thorough investigation into the assault, despite JSP Chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu dismissing the event as theatrical.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of numerous national figures who turned to social media site X shortly after it was reported that Jagan had been injured after being struck by a stone. They wished him a swift recovery. Modi had tweeted, “I pray for Andhra Pradesh CM @ysjagan garu’s quick recovery and good health.”

According to a source, the leaders were reluctant to adopt a position that would go against the party’s position, even if the prime minister himself tweeted.

Leaders of the saffron party also expressed the opinion that the incident may not have been politically motivated, but rather the act of pranksters.

A top leader said, “It appeared as though the stone was thrown at Jagan by expert bird hunters of Kolleru lake region.”

It has been discovered that when the investigation is over, the party leadership will make a statement on the subject. “The Election Commission is also participating in this preliminary probe. Therefore, we think the investigation will be handled fairly. At this point, we don’t want to leap to judgments or get engaged in the matter,” he said.

The leader stated that if the party leadership had gotten involved in the verbal sparring, focus would have shifted from the election pledges, pointing out that the BJP’s platform was also unveiled on Sunday.

But BJP leaders also demanded a CBI investigation from the governor, along with the TDP and JSP.
