Arnold Dix Deplores Assistance From National Agencies As 41 Employees Saved From Silkyara Tunnel Arrive in Delhi

Following their certification as medically healthy at AIIMS Rishikesh earlier in the day, workers who were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel on Thursday evening made their way to New Delhi. After a comprehensive examination, the blood test, X-ray, and ECG results of the 41 workers were all normal, according to ANI.

Arnold Dix, a global tunneling specialist, arrived in Delhi as well after heading the crews’ successful rescue mission. Dix reported feeling content and at ease after the completion of the mission.

“I’m feeling content and at ease right now. In an interview with ANI, he said, “I am thrilled that I went with the soldiers that were saved.

When questioned about the Indian agencies’ participation in the rescue effort, Dix said, “There’s no way we would have got this outcome if they hadn’t cooperated the way they did.” We were a single, cohesive unit. 41 soldiers, safely home, nobody harmed, flawless.”

On November 12, a section of the tunnel collapsed, trapping 41 laborers within the still-under-construction tunnel due to debris falling in a 60-meter section on the Silkyara side of the tunnel. A thorough rescue effort was launched in an attempt to free the imprisoned laborers. On Tuesday, the laborers were extricated from under the tunnel after intense operations spanning more than 16 days.

Both Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged their appreciation with the mission’s successful rescue of the stranded individuals.

“The success of the rescue operation of our labor brothers in Uttarkashi is making everyone emotional,” the prime minister remarked, praising the perseverance and bravery of those imprisoned within the Silkyara tunnel. To my friends who were stranded in the tunnel, I would want to convey that everyone is inspired by your bravery and endurance. I hope everyone is well and stays well. We are quite happy that these friends of ours will finally get to see their loved ones after a protracted wait. We are very grateful to all of these families for their bravery and patience during this difficult time.
