At the Inter-DIET competition, Chamba athletes excel

When the athletes from the District Institute of Teachers’ Training (DIET), Chamba returned to school on Wednesday, they were greeted with open arms after winning 19 medals in the Inter-DIET Sports Championship.

The competition took place from February 9 to February 11 at DIET in Hamirpur. The athletes from DIET Chamba won first place in badminton, kabaddi, and athletics, among other sports. An official from the institution said that the DIET Chamba team won gold in badminton, silver in kabaddi, and overall championships in athletics.

In Kabaddi, Nikhil Chandel was named the best player.

Vishal placed third in the men’s 100-meter race while Bobby Kumar placed second in the 200-meter event in athletics.

In the 400-meter event, Vishal took first place, followed by Surender Kumar in third. In the 800-meter event, Kumar won gold, while Vishal took home silver.

In the shot put and discus throw, Manjeet Kumar and Bobby Kumar placed second and third, respectively.

Shefali took first place in the women’s division 100-meter event, while Aaina finished third. In the 400-meter event, Shefali also took third place. Kiran Kumari won a silver medal in the discus throw and a gold medal in the shot put.
