Bhojshala Row: ASI Commences Inspection At Disputed Temple-Mosque Complex In Dhar, MP; View

The controversial Bhojshala Temple cum Kamal Maula Mosque complex in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district was scheduled to host the Archeological study of India (ASI) study on Friday.

The MP High Court allowed an application on March 11th, asking for the ASI to be directed to perform a study at the disputed site along the lines of Gyanvapi in Varanasi. The change occurred during the high court’s consideration of a petition filed by the “Hindu Front for Justice” organization.

The petitioner is requesting that Hindus be allowed to do regular prayer in the disputed complex and that Muslims be prohibited from performing Namaz there. Following the petitioner’s opening arguments, the court requested the state government, the Center, and other relevant parties to provide their response to the matter.

According to Naidunia, the ASI claimed in its court filing that it had previously examined the facility in 1902-03, adding that doing a fresh assessment would be pointless. The Muslim side in the lawsuit agreed with the ASI’s position, claiming that the survey’s findings gave Muslims permission to perform Friday Namaz prayers on the temple-mosque complex.

However, the petitioner argued that the results of the previous study demonstrated the complex’s Hindu origins.
