Bihar Congress transports its MLAs to Hyderabad because of fear of poaching

PATNA: In an effort to keep its supporters united ahead of the February 12 trust vote for the new NDA government led by Nitish Kumar, the Congress sent 16 of its 19 MLAs in Bihar to a resort near Hyderabad on Sunday. Some MLAs, according to sources, were reportedly in contact with Nitish’s JD(U) and moving them to Telangana, which is run by Congress.

According to the sources, the three other MLAs will go to Hyderabad on Monday to join the others.A senior Congress official said, “Our Bihar MLAs have been shifted for obvious reasons.” According to the sources, the MLAs would be transported straight from the airport to the assembly on February 12 after being flown to Patna for the trust vote.

After abandoning the RJD-Congress-Left Grand Alliance on January 28, Nitish created a new government with the BJP and allies. According to him, 128 MLAs back him, exceeding the 122 majority needed to constitute a majority in the 243-member parliament. However, there are concerns that some may not show up for the cross-vote or floor test.
According to the reports, the team is being led to Hyderabad by prominent members of the Bihar Congress, like as Akhilesh Singh, the state president. The MLAs allegedly traveled by air from Delhi to Telangana, where they met AICC chairman Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday.

Congress is afraid, according to BJP deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. “It resembles kidnapping the MLAs.” They don’t think highly of them. The MLAs are not bonded laborers, as they must not believe, Sinha said. Prem Chandra Mishra, a Congress MLA, retaliated by saying, “NDA should not think about us.” We’re still here. Rather, JD(U) will see a split.
Prior to the new chief minister Champai Soren’s trust vote on Monday, after his resignation and the arrest of his predecessor Heman Soren by the ED in connection with a land fraud case last week, the JMM-led ruling coalition in Jharkhand has also sent lawmakers to “safe” Hyderabad.
Still, the Left is not sleeping well over its sixteen MLAs in Bihar. “Since ideology is our capital, we are convinced that no one can steal them. Our legislators may go around freely in their districts. Since we have complete trust in our lawmakers, we don’t constrain them, Bihar CPI-ML secretary Kunal told TOI on Sunday.
