BJP is going after me and Abhishek Banerjee; danger: Banerjee Mamata

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, said on Sunday that she and her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of the TMC, were being targeted by the BJP and that they did not feel secure.

Her accusation was made the day after Assembly Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari predicted a “big explosion” on Monday that would rock the TMC and its leadership.

“Abhishek and I are being targeted by the BJP; we are not safe, but we also don’t fear the saffron party’s plot. We want everyone to be vigilant about a plot targeting West Bengalis and TMC leaders, she said.

The leader of the TMC was speaking at a rally in support of party candidate and state minister Biplab Mitra in Kumarganj, which is located in the Balurghat Lok Sabha seat.

She remarked, “There is a traitor who joined the BJP to protect his family and ill-gotten wealth,” in response to Adhikari’s statement. Let me inform him that we take his threat to set off a chocolate bomb explosion very seriously. Adhikari, a former minister for the TMC, joined the BJP before to the state’s 2021 Assembly elections.

“If you are courageous, present the facts and the truth. I suppose it takes time to completely develop a fake story and a conspiracy. But don’t worry, we’re prepared to respond,” she said.

The leader of the TMC said that the BJP is inciting unrest in the state by bringing in foreigners. She said that Doordarshan’s saffron-colored emblem was painted there in support of the BJP’s “religion-based vote bank politics and agenda” and questioned how this could be accomplished.

“Why did the DD logo change to saffron so quickly? Why were Army personnel’s official houses painted saffron? She questioned, “Why was the police uniform in Kashi (Varanasi) changed to saffron?

The chief minister said that there would be no more elections and that the religious liberties of many groups would be in jeopardy if the BJP took back power.
