BJP requests that the CBI look into DJB projects

Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, has requested the Lieutenant Governor to order the CBI to look into every tender project that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Irrigation Department have done during the last nine years.

Sachdeva expressed doubts about the Delhi government’s performance. He said, “Arvind Kejriwal should explain why, in the last nine years, water generation under the Delhi Jal Board has increased by just 5 MGD.”

He urged openness about the distribution and utilization of money and accused the AAP-led administration of corruption. Sachdeva said, “Kejriwal and Atishi should explain what they did with the Rs 29,172 crore allocated for water treatment alone over the past nine years.”

The head of the Delhi BJP voiced worry over Delhi’s water shortage problems.

He said, “A severe shortage of water for Delhi’s consumers is being caused by extensive theft and wastage of water in Delhi due to the criminal negligence of the Delhi government.”
