BJP responds to statement made against Dharmendra Pradhan

On Thursday, the BJP retaliated against the BJD for casting doubt on Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s ten-year contribution to Odisha.

BJP MLA from Rengali Nauri Nayak responded to an attack on Pradhan on social media by saying that cases of malnutrition in Nagada are the best illustration of the changes that have taken place in Odisha during the last 25 years under the BJD government. Pranab Prakash Das is the BJD nominee for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat.

He said that even after eight years, the tribal residents of Nagada village in the Jajpur district—which is notorious for the deaths of several children due to malnutrition—remain devoid of basic facilities. Not only Nagada, but many other communities in the state lack access to essential services including drinking water, roads, and medical facilities. Pregnant women are still often reported to have been carried on cribs to the closest hospitals for birth.

He continued, saying that throughout the previous 25 years of BJD administration, the government has failed to provide many homes in the state with clean drinking water, which has led to deaths from cholera and diarrhea.

The Rengali MLA emphasized Pradhan’s contribution to Samablpur as a federal minister, pointing out that the western Odisha district is now home to a number of new trains, notably the Vande Bharat Express. “Perhaps the BJD leader is unaware of the state-wide development initiatives carried out by the Center. I want Maa Biraja to provide Das the wisdom to recognize the suffering of those living under the BJD regime,” Nayak said.
