BJP responds to the Chief Minister’s comments on CAA

Following Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), BJP leaders attacked the politician, accusing him of inciting division and disinformation.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “No Indian is deprived of their citizenship by the CAA.” Only those who are persecuted because of their beliefs are granted citizenship. He called on southern Indian parties, especially those in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, to “avoid inciting hatred.”

Kejriwal’s comments were denounced by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who said, “He has not only hurt the sentiments of refugees, but also attempted to scare Indian Muslims.”

Sachdeva said, “Kejriwal has demonstrated his antipathy toward Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists through his press conference.”

Kejriwal was called “anti-national and anti-humanity” by Delhi Assembly Leader of the Opposition, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. He brought attention to the horrors that Sikhs, Hindus, and other minorities in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan had to endure.
