‘BJP’ warning Mamata Banerjee has issued about the Lok Sabha elections: ‘LPG cylinder price will be ₹2000 if…’

Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee, the head of the Trinamool Congress and the chief minister of West Bengal has issued a warning, stating that if the Bharatiya Janata Party wins back control of the Centre during the next Lok Sabha elections, cooking gas prices might increase to ₹2,000 per cylinder.

On Thursday, Mamata Banerjee was speaking to a group in the Jhargram district of Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee, a fierce opponent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, said that the party would make the people go back to gathering firewood.

Should the BJP emerge victorious in the elections, the cost of a cooking gas cylinder might rise to ₹1,500 or ₹2,000. However, we’ll have to revert to the traditional method of gathering wood in order to start a fire,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee also said that the West Bengal government will begin building homes under the Awas Yojana if the Central government did not finish by the end of April.

According to Banerjee, the MGNREGA dues were not paid by the BJP administration.

“I questioned a young person about where he acquired the money for the 100-day work program. All he stated he had was around ₹30,000. People like him have not received this much from the national government in the previous two years. We have made amends for 59 lakh people,” she said.

Trinamool vs. BJP over Shajahan Sheikh
A fierce political war is presently raging between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress over the arrest of TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh, the primary accused in the Sandeshkhali sexual assault case.

The controversial politician has been placed on six-year suspension by the Trinamool Congress.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose responded to the arrest by saying that it marks the “beginning of an end” on Thursday.

“This marks the start of the end. The cycle of violence in Bengal must be broken. Goons are in charge in certain areas of Bengal. This has to stop, and the thugs ought to go to jail,” he said.

Derek O’Brien, the head of the TMC, challenged the BJP to remove its leaders who are facing criminal charges after his detention.

“It is our decision to ban Shajahan Sheikh from the party for a period of six years. We always practice what we preach. As we have done in the past, we are leading by example now. However, we defy the BJP to remove politicians who are facing many criminal cases and corruption charges,” the man said.
