Breakup Of The Indian Bloc In Kashmir As Mehbooba’s PDP Prepares To Run Alone In The Lok Sabha Elections: “Deeply Hurt With Omar Abdullah”

Jammu: Chief Mehbooba Mufti of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said on Wednesday that the party would field its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, dealing another blow to the nascent INDIA bloc. Omar Abdullah, the head of the National Conference (NC), said that the party will run for all three seats in Kashmir. This led to the current event. With this revelation, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc is no longer expected to exist in the valley.

“The way Omar Abdullah disregarded the PDP as the election’s front-runner greatly hurts us. Mehbooba Mufti told reporters that Omar Sahab made fun of her employees by claiming that the NC would run candidates for the Valley’s three Lok Sabha seats since, in his opinion, the PDP didn’t exist at all.

She said that the BJP had enticed the majority of the top PDP leaders, leaving her with just her “poor” party members who had supported her through good times and bad. “How can I disregard Omar Abdullah’s insult to them and follow his decree that the PDP should not run a candidate in the Valley?” she questioned.

As the most senior politician and chairman of the coalition, she said that the PDP has faith in Farooq Abdullah to choose candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in a fair and reasonable manner.Omar Abdullah went so far as to say that the NC will observe how the PDP behaved before determining whether or not to join forces with us in an electoral coalition for the assembly elections.

“Farooq Abdullah is our best representative in Mumbai, and he will answer the phone,” I added. We weren’t going to fight over parliamentary elections; Omar Abdullah could have addressed the same with me for better interest, Mufti told reporters in Srinagar. However, we were harmed by Omar Abdullah’s statement that the PDP is nonexistent. My workers were unhappy with Omar’s remarks, but the BJP broke apart my party entirely. My staff is already contacting me to advise us to pitch our prospects as well,” Mufti said.

She then said, “I’m disappointed with what Omar Abdullah said about the PDP.” The former CM went on to say that her party will now compete independently.

In order to take on the BJP in the general elections, the National Conference and the People’s Democratic Party partnered to establish the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, which was established to give Jammu and Kashmir its former special status, counts the two regional parties as significant members.

The Union Territory’s Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to take place in five stages, beginning on April 19 in Udhampur, April 26 in Jammu, May 7 in Anantnag-Rajouri, May 13 in Srinagar, and May 20 in Baramulla. On June 4, the vote-counting process will begin.
