In a confrontation with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma, Naxal was slain

Tuesday’s confrontation between Naxals and security personnel within the Bhejji PS boundary in Chhattisgarh resulted in the recovery of a Naxal’s corpse, according to authorities.

“Body of a naxal recovered in a search operation after an exchange of fire between naxals and security forces under Bhejji PS limit,” Kiran Chauhan, Sukhma SP, said. More information is awaited.

More research is being done.
A Naxalite who had a Rs 1 lakh reward on his head was captured earlier on June 6 by a combined squad of security forces in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Sukma district.

The ultra was also found to include additional items, including a tiffin bomb, four detonators, four gelatin rods, and other items.

Yesterday, anti-naxal operations were carried out by a combined police and CoBRA squad, an elite unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The team apprehended the suspect, identified as Sodi Dewa alias Sunil, the official added.
According to him, Dewa served as the Surpanguda RPC militia platoon commander-in-chief and was active in the outlawed group.

The source said that the apprehended Naxal had a financial bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head.

The official said that the Naxalite was reportedly engaged in a variety of crimes, including an IED explosion, a murder, an ambush on security forces, an encounter, the killing of a sarpanch by falsely portraying him as a police informant, and other occurrences.
