Campus news: There was a voter awareness campaign

The NSS at Punjab University organized a “Mera Pehala Vote Desh Ke Liye” awareness campaign. The drive took place at Khuda Lahora and Dhanas. Along with program officials and NSS volunteers, Dr. Parveen Goyal, the NSS’s coordinator of programmes, led a parade through the villages while carrying placards emphasizing the value and need for voting.

Final Assembly at PGGCG-11

On Wednesday, the 65th annual convocation of the Postgraduate Government College for Girls, located in Sector 11, was held. The main guest at the event was Professor Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar. During the 2022–2023 academic year, almost 1,300 students completed their graduation and post-graduation requirements. More than seventy of the college’s students who performed very well and earned spots in the Panjab University exams were recognized. Medals were given to fifteen students who placed first in the PU exams, while 27 students received Roll of Honor decorations in recognition of their exceptional performance.

An organized declaration contest

Students from Chandigarh, Haryana, and Punjab competed in an inter-university declamation competition held by the Sanskrit Department at Punjab University (PU). Certificates and keepsakes were presented to the winners as gifts. The three winners of the essay-writing contest were Mamta, Anjali, and Smriti. In the declamation competition, Hitansh Arya, Sunil, and Ashish took first, second, and third place, respectively.

30-hour PU students’ career training

From February 26 to March 12, Punjab University’s Central Placement Cell (CPC) offered its students a 30-hour value-added course titled “Unleashing Career Success: Mastering Soft Skills.” The goal of the program was to prepare students for corporate jobs by bridging the gap between industry standards and academic preparation and making them job-ready.

CU signs agreement to increase employment

Employability.life and Chandigarh University have partnered strategically to improve student employability globally. Together with Federation University Australia, the partnership seeks to provide comprehensive programs designed to give students the knowledge, abilities, and experiences necessary for success in a variety of professional settings throughout the globe. In order to develop a mutually advantageous future work experience center that would provide students with project-based learning opportunities in both Punjab and Melbourne, the institution formalized a Letter of Intent with Employability.life.
