Chief suspect detained in Nakodar for releasing an accused person from police custody

The key suspect in an incident when an accused in a case was forcefully removed from the Gurdaspur police’s custody by his accomplices was taken into custody by the Nakodar police on Thursday.

 

In a blatant act of boldness, Saif Ali’s accomplices, also going by the name Saifu, violently rescued him from a police car at Cheema Kalan. The police have finally apprehended the main suspect among the accomplices.

The accused, Saif Ali, also known as Saifu, is a resident of Bundala. The police arrested him on March 9 in Gurdaspur at the Purana Shala police station in connection with a case under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC. As he was being taken away, a black Bolero car pulled up in front of the police jeep near village Cheema Kalan, causing an accident. This information was provided by the Nakodar police.

Following that, according to the police, people who were identified as Ranjha alias Yusuf, a resident of Bundala, and Mohammed Sipahi, Saif Ali, Sharif alias Kaka, sons of Mohammed Sai and Mahammed Sai himself, who lived in Cheema Kalan, emerged from Bolero brandishing sticks and guns. Despite the police’s protests, they encircled the patrol car and forcefully removed the apprehended suspect, Saif Ali, also known as Saifu.

At the Nurmahal police station, a complaint under Sections 341, 353, 186, 225, and 120-B of the IPC was filed against them on March 9.

Following a tip, a raid was carried out on April 4 and Mohammed Sai, the main culprit in the aforementioned crime, was taken into custody from Cheema Kalan in Jalandhar. His remand was granted by the police, and the Bolero vehicle (PB-18-R-2677) was also found.
