Clifford bolts from the scene

Kolkata: On Tuesday at the RCTC here, Clifford, the odds-on favourite from Neil Darashah’s stable, handily defeated his opponents by winning the 55EXCH Scratch Lottery Handicap. Clifford followed the Eternal Princess as she emerged from the gates first. S. Zervaan turned and headed home, alighting Jolie Rue’s son, who easily surged by to secure a solid victory.

Galaticus, who was never in the hunt, lost sight of the second shot that Eternal Princess managed to hold onto.
Dubai Star, who completed an encore by winning the Best Odds Handicap under apprentice Abdul Fazal, has greatly benefited from the switch of stables. The son of Woodberg, who came in with a flawless run to raise the winning flag and Tiger Shark finishing in a strong second, has been well represented by Daniel David.
Hindu Singh’s Suparakiga, trained by Dr. Anil Kumar, prevailed in a well-fought race in the Play and Win Handicap. The son of Nasheeta held on during a cavalry attack for the winning post after Blue Chip called the shots far into the house.
The Ball By Ball Handicap was won by DRD, headed by Arman Khan and featuring Sabeel Shariff, who dominated the race from start to finish. From the inside draw, DRD took the lead, followed by Xtravagant Star and the others.
A large wager on Perfect Gentleman in the Win Your Luck Cup was lost. Oromelo, who was being nursed by Javed Khan with Neeraj Rawal in the saddle, made the delivery. Perfect Gentleman lost to longtime leader Ganadora for second place.
Mohit Singh was riding Ticker when he won the first race of the day.
Postponed races:
The RCTC’s stewards opted to move Wednesday’s racing until Saturday due to bad weather that made the racetrack’s surface unsuitable for competition.
