Conflict between newcomers in CM’s neighborhood

Mysuru: The BJP and Congress are engaged in an exciting race for the Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat. The election is becoming more unpredictable as a result of the new faces that both parties have brought into the race.

In Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home district, the Congress has nominated Vokkaliga leader M Lakshman, while the BJP has selected Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, a member of the royal family with no previous political experience but substantial influence because of the Yadu dynasty’s tradition.

Taking a personal interest in the poll, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has visited Kodagu and Mysore many times to support the Congress campaign. Yatindra Siddaramaiah, his son, has also been actively circulating ballots around the area. The BJP has gathered backing for its candidate from the state leadership, including H.D. Kumaraswamy of the coalition party, C.T. Ravi, a former minister, and Dr. C.N. Aswattha Narayan, in reaction to the Congress plan. B.Y. Vijayendra, the head of the state BJP, is in charge of the party’s campaign operations in the seat.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is personally engaged in the Congress candidate’s success and sees this election as a matter of pride.

Local Congress MLAs, Dr. H. C. Mahadevappa, Minister K. Venkatesh, and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, accompanied him for the campaign.

Yogi Aditya Nath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also visited Mysuru to boost the BJP alliance’s confidence. Former chief ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and B.S. Yeddyurappa, state president of the BJP B.Y. Vijayendra, and local alliance party heavyweights, such as MLA GT Deve Gowda, campaigned in the seat.
