Cong criticizes Telangana’s KCR government over a student’s suicide

The suicide of a student, which was allegedly brought on by the delay of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) test, prompted the Congress to launch a stinging assault on the BRS-led Telangana government on Saturday.

While expressing their sorrow over the 23-year-old’s suicide, the grand old party cited the BRS government’s “apathy” as the reason why the student took such drastic measures.

In the next Assembly election, it was predicted that the youth will depose the current administration.

“I am shocked and heartbroken by the suicide of a 23-year-old female student in Telangana, who apparently took the extreme action because of persistent postponements and anomalies in the State Public Service Commission Exams. Our hearts go out to the family of the slain student in this hour of sorrow and rage, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge remarked in a social media post.

Kharge attacked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao by claiming that “thousands of young aspirants in Telangana are frustrated and enraged due to the rank apathy of the BRS Govt in conducting examinations.”

“Youngsters of Telangana hold the corrupt, inept, and inefficient BRS government accountable and will oust it from power in the state,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi, a former president of the Congress, echoed a similar feeling when he remarked, “The news of a student’s suicide in Hyderabad yesterday is really sad. This is the murder of young people’s goals, hopes, and aspirations, not suicide.

He attacked the KCR administration, claiming that Telangana’s young are now being totally destroyed by unemployment. The state has been destroyed by the ineptitude of the BJP Relative Committee, BRS, and BJP during the last ten years.

In addition, the Wayanad MP for Kerala’s Congress Party promised that if the party wins the state’s next election, TSPSC would be reorganized in a month along the lines of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Telangana Congress administration, according to him, “will publish a job calendar, reorganize TSPSC along the lines of UPSC in one month, and fill 2 lakh open government positions within a year.”

On November 30, a single phase of voting will be conducted to elect the 119-member Telangana Assembly. On December 3, the ballots from four more states—Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Mizoram—will also be counted.

Telangana’s 2018 Assembly election is anticipated to be a three-cornered contest between the governing BRS and the Congress and the BJP.

The Congress wants to overthrow the current government, but the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has expressed confidence that it would keep control.
