Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Ahead of the next General Elections, the Indian National Congress (Congress) has made available a list of its candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Goa North, Goa South, Morena, Gwalior, Khandwa, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (ST).

Ramakant Khalap has been nominated by the Congress for Goa North, while Capt. Viriato Fernandes has been picked to represent the party in Goa South Lok Sabha.

The party’s candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly seats are Satyapal Singh Sikaewar from Morena, Praveen Pathank from Gwalior, and Narendra Patel from Khandwa.

Ajit Ramjibhai Mahla, an LS candidate from the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (ST), has been nominated by the Congress.

Rahul Gandhi says Congress will win this election.
Rahul Gandhi, the MP and head of the Congress, thinks his party has a chance to win the next Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Speaking with reporters after the Congress’s April 5 presentation of its “Nyay Patra” 2024 manifesto, Gandhi said he was confident in his party and that predictions were discounting their chances.

“The election is far closer than the media is making it seem. We will fight a great campaign and win the election, even if it’s a tight one,” he said.

Congress Issues Patra Nyay
The Nyay Patra manifesto was presented Friday evening at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi.

Minorities in the nation would be guaranteed the ability to choose their attire, diet, language, and personal laws, according to the manifesto. It also promised to change the election rules for voters, proposing to hold elections using both paper ballots and computerised voting machines.

According to the manifesto, “We will amend the election laws to combine the transparency of the ballot paper with the efficiency of the electronic voting machine (EVM).”

The EVM will be used for voting, according to the manifesto. The voter will be allowed to retain and deposit the voting slip produced by the machine into the voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) unit, however, concurrently.

In releasing the manifesto, Congress pledged the minimum support price (MSP) that farmers have long sought, 50% government employment for women, and a national minimum salary of ₹400 per day.
