Congress has five key players: former MP Nirupam

Sanjay Nirupam, the former leader of the Mumbai regional Congress who was expelled, blasted his former party on Thursday for having “multiple power centers, tremendous arrogance and a fixation with Nehruvian secularism that has expired.”

Speaking to reporters the day after Congressman Mallikarjun Kharge’s late-night order to remove him, Nirupam said: “I was expelled minutes after I sent my resignation letter to Mr. Kharge.” A4 paper was actually squandered by them.

According to Nirupam, the Congress had no future and was now gone. “The Congress, which has five power centers—three Gandhi family members, Congress President Kharge, and AICC General Secretary (organization) KC Venugopal—has a great deal of hubris. The party is still committed to the Nehruvian secularism that denies religion any place. Such secularism is out of date, according to Nirupam.

He said that he had objected to the Shiv Sena UBT running a “corrupt politician” in the Mumbai North West constituency. Nirupam, who is expected to join the Shiv Sena headed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, said, “I will not let him win as a UBT candidate.”
