Congress leaders will meet with party leaders in Delhi today to discuss their 2024 LS election strategy for Karnataka

A delegation of 50 state Congress leaders and ministers will meet with the party leadership in New Delhi today in an effort to create a blueprint of plans for the impending 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting would feature AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, General Secretaries K C Vengopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala, among others, according to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

The Karnataka Congress president said before departing for Delhi that he would also be meeting with a few Union ministers to address concerns and initiatives pertaining to the state.

Regarding the meeting

Thirty MPs have complained to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the party leadership about the lack of execution of development projects in their districts and the performance of certain ministers, which has led to growing unhappiness within the party.

To better grasp the issue, CM Siddaramaiah called a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party last week, when certain lawmakers voiced their displeasure with the actions and behavior of some ministers.

The state Congress has not yet acknowledged reports that there was debate on the need for a coordination committee to improve communication between the party and the government.

However, according to Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, and a number of state government officials, there is no unrest inside the governing party.

He stated that the Lok Sabha elections are the reason for the party’s meeting with state ministers and leaders in Delhi, and that it is to debate and prepare a strategy on what must be done in the benefit of the Congress before elections.
