“Congress manifesto features photos of Thailand”: BJP queries if Rahul Gandhi’s vacation itinerary includes Nyay Patra

Rahul Gandhi’s favourite vacation spot, Thailand, is included in the Congress manifesto. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked the traditional party’s Nyay Patra for the Lok Sabha elections on Friday.

BJP national spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked during a news conference that the Congress Nyay Patra has a photo of New York State’s Buffalo River under the environment section.

The Congress manifesto includes an image related to water management. This image is of the Buffalo River in the state of New York. There is a photo of Rahul Gandhi’s preferred vacation spot, Thailand, in the Environment section. Who is included in all of this on their platform?”

He referenced the Hindi phrase “Akal bade ya bhains?” To ridicule the Congress party for the New York images in their Lok Sabha campaign platform (Is wisdom greater or the buffalo?).

They haven’t been able to figure out who was tweeting from their social media chairperson’s account up until now. Who provided these photos to them now? In both cases, they lacked insight,” he said.

The BJP also said that the Congress had created this “bundle of lies” of a manifesto in an attempt to deceive voters. “It is ironic that Congress is running for office on a platform of promising to do amazing things if given the mandate,” Trivedi said.

He chastised Congress for calling its manifesto “Nyay Patra,” claiming that the moniker implies that the party has mistreated the nation during its fifty- to sixty-year dominance.

“The Congress did not fulfil any of the promises made in its earlier manifestos for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” he said, adding, “Which are the Congress-ruled states where Rahul Gandhi’s promise of giving ₹76,000 to people has been implemented?”

With the comment, “Looks like the Congress forgot that it is preparing a manifesto for India and not putting together a holiday itinerary for Rahul Gandhi,” BJP leader Amit Malviya also poked fun at Rahul Gandhi and the Congress manifesto.

“Is there any explanation for including a photo of Thailand in the Environment section? After the election, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Rahul Gandhi jets off to Thailand for yet another vacation,” he said.

The Congress unveiled its manifesto on Friday for the seven-phase Lok Sabah elections that are set to take place starting on April 19. The party has pledged the following: an increase in the 50% ceiling on reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for crops, and civil law protection for LGBTQIA+ couples.
