Congressmen are irritated because Mandi Lok Sabha candidate has not been named yet
Party activists warn that the Congress high command’s tardiness in naming the party’s nominee for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat might have serious consequences. Since the BJP has already declared Kangana Ranaut as its candidate to run in the Lok Sabha election from the seat, they have been waiting impatiently for the announcement of the official candidate of the Congress.
“In the Mandi parliamentary constituency, the BJP has commenced its election campaign, whereas the Congress high command has not yet announced its candidate,” party members said.
The party’s general secretary, Chet Ram Thakur, and spokesman, Aakash Sharma, said that talks were in progress to choose the nominees for the four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh. The party leadership is anticipated to announce the names of the candidates in a day or two.
They said that Pratibha Singh, the state president of the Congress, was virtually certain to be named and that her official declaration of her candidacy was still pending.
