Cong’s Dig Over Ajit Pawar Move In Maharashtra Shows That The BJP’s ‘Washing Machine’ Is Back In Business

The Congress claimed on Sunday that the BJP’s “washing machine” has resumed operations as a result of NCP leader Ajit Pawar and eight other party leaders joining the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government. A number of these leaders had been charged with serious corruption and have since received a “clean chit.”

Ajit Pawar, who left the NCP and entered office as Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister, said on Sunday that his party chose to join the Eknath Shinde-led administration in order to advance the nation and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Eight further NCP leaders were sworn in as ministers.

Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh responded to the news by stating, “Clearly the BJP’s Washing Machine has started its activities. Several new members of the BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra today were being investigated by the ED, CBI, and Income Tax departments on severe corruption accusations. Now, everyone has a clean slate.

Ramesh said that the Congress would step up its efforts to liberate Maharashtra from the BJP’s control.

The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), the NCP, and the Congress are allies in the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.
