Crabs brought down my government: Thackeray accuses the Shinde gang

Shiv Sena (UBT) President and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched a blistering assault, alleging that crabs that were hidden in the dam and breached it in June 2022 brought down his administration.

“Last year’s severe storms did not sweep away my government… The crabs, who were hidden in the muck there, burst the dam. We had no choice since, as Thackeray put it, “a crab is a crab, and no matter what you do to try to straighten them, they keep moving sideways.

In reference to the rebellion within the former Shiv Sena and the election of Eknath Shinde as Chief Minister after toppling the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Thackeray, he noted that crabs have a particular mindset and that there is no need to cover a basket containing crabs because when one goes up, the others will put it down.

He also criticized Shinde for attending the Delhi Darbar to do a “mujra dance” when the state was still suffering from the devastating hillslide disaster in Irshalwadi, Raigad, on July 19, which claimed the lives of 27 people.

On the eve of his 62nd birthday on Thursday, Thackeray gave his yearly lengthy multi-media interview to Saamana Group Executive Editor Sanjay Raut, the first installment of which was released on Wednesday.
