Cultural groups to raise awareness among Una voters

To guarantee a strong voter participation in the district for the forthcoming general Elections, the District Election Department of Una has stepped up its public awareness campaigns.

Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that cultural groups have dispersed around the area to teach people the value of voting in order to strengthen democracy.

According to him, educational institutions were organizing various events, such as essay writing and quiz challenges, on election-related subjects, with the aim of motivating new voters.

According to the DC, the district has been following the model code of conduct since the Election Commission of India declared the elections. He stated that, as a result, individuals may submit their grievances and recommendations using the cVigil app or website (cvigil.eci.gov.in).

In addition, he said that complaints about things like buying votes with bribes could be posted with supporting documentation and that they would be handled in a matter of hours.

According to the DC, political parties and candidates should use the Suvidha app to apply for several kinds of approvals, including as using public address systems, planning events and rallies, renting cars for campaigning, using helicopters and helipads, and establishing temporary offices.

Since Una is a border district, all 77 interstate checkpoints along Punjab have increased security. In order to guarantee coordination and collaboration during elections, interstate police officials recently convened under the direction of Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu of Himachal Pradesh.

According to the DC, all licensed gun owners have been instructed to leave their firearms at nearby police stations or gun stores by April 20. If this deadline is missed, defaulters will face legal repercussions.
