Delhi BJP head claims that the Ghazipur dump fire is an example of AAP’s “corruption.”

According to news agency PTI, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva visited the dump in Ghazipur on Monday, where trash caught fire the day before, and he accused the AAP administration of “corruption” in the incident.

He said that if the BJP took over in Delhi, this waste dump will be cleared up in a year.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) did not immediately respond to Sachdeva’s accusation.

Hours after a significant fire started at the Ghazipur dump, thick clouds of smoke were still rising aloft on Monday.

The Delhi Fire Service said that the enormous pile of rubbish within the dump caused gasses that resulted in a large fire on Sunday night, PTI reported.

“More than half of the machines are nonfunctional” in the Ghazipur landfill fire

“One clear illustration of the Kejriwal government’s corruption is the waste dump in Ghazipur. By 2023, they were supposed to take down this waste mountain, but now another one has appeared. This is due to the corruption inside the MCD. Over 50% of the machines are not working. Why weren’t they fixed? Sachdeva stated, according to PTI.

“It will be removed within a year after the day BJP forms government in Delhi,” he said.

Landfill fire in Ghazipur: AAP had pledged to clean up the site.

Prior to the 2022 MCD election, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a pledge to clean the waste site by December 31, 2023.

Nevertheless, the waste mound keeps becoming bigger.

In 2019, the Qutub Minar was eight meters higher than the Ghazipur dump, which stood at 65 meters.

Two persons were killed in 2017 when some of the trash from the dumping yard fell into a nearby road.

In 2022, the Ghazipur landfill saw three recorded fire incidents, the most recent of which occurred on March 28 and required over 50 hours to put out.
