Despite many raids, the ED was unable to establish a money trail against any AAP leaders, according to Atishi

Delhi Minister Atishi said on Saturday that despite several raids, arrests, and a two-year probe into the purported excise policy fraud, the ED has not been able to provide a money trail against any AAP politician. The AAP representative said that Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday just on the basis of Sharad P. Reddy’s testimony.

In November, the ED detained Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma in relation to the excise policy issue. She said he provided the BJP with millions of rupees via electoral bonds.

Kejriwal was sent into ED detention till March 28 by a local court on Friday “for his detailed and sustained interrogation” about his suspected involvement in the Delhi excise policy fraud. In addition, Atishi urged the ED to bring legal action against the BJP, claiming that the saffron party is linked to the money trail of the alleged excise policy scheme.

The minister from Delhi said that the BJP had “proceeds of crime” in its bank accounts and demanded that JP Nadda, the leader of the saffron party, be taken into custody by the national government.
